Auburn Development Council Inc. is now Grow Auburn Inc.
As an effort to revitalize economic development is Auburn is underway, the Auburn Development Council, Inc known as ADC is moving forward with a new name that reflects the mission of the organization – Grow Auburn Inc. The City of Auburn is taking on a more active role in economic development through financial support and coordination with other local initiatives. “The City of Auburn is committed to supporting economic development efforts to help move our community forward,” said Auburn Mayor Chris Erickson. The Board of Directors examined the makeup of other economic development organizations in the region and made changes to the organization’s bylaws that allow for a more active role for investors. Grow Auburn Inc. has two permanent seats that represent the City of Auburn for the Mayor and the Council President. Other investors are elected to the Grow Auburn Inc. Board of Directors as they make investments into the organization. The current Board of Directors include President Nathan Seitz, Chris Erickson, Katy Billings and Bob Engles. There are also three non-voting members who serve as ex-officio members including the Auburn Public Schools Superintendent David Patton, City of Auburn City Administrator/Economic Developer Crystal Dunekacke, and Auburn Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Leslie Clark. Crystal Dunekacke serves as the secretary and treasurer for Grow Auburn, Inc.
Together the Board of Directors and investors will work to grow the Auburn community through the support of the current business community and industry partners, recruitment of new businesses and industries to the community, as well as other initiatives to support workforce development such as housing and childcare. Grow Auburn Inc. is seeking additional investors to join in these efforts. “Whether you own a business and want to invest or want to invest personally, we look forward to welcoming new investors and continuing the work of growing our community,” said Nathan Seitz, Grow Auburn Inc.
